Supervision
I offer Supervision to counsellors from all different training backgrounds.
I really enjoy my work as a supervisor as it provides an opportunity to reflect on issues arising from counselling practice with both students and qualified counsellors who work in different settings. I therefore strive to offer a safe space in which you can focus on your work with clients and the therapeutic process. The relationship between me as supervisor and you as supervisee is a collaborative one, working together to decide how best to support your clients. I try hard to be both supportive and also to offer a degree of challenge suitable to your experience as a counsellor.
I also offer external supervision to social workers, NHS staff, teachers and individuals who feel they might benefit in talking about issues that arise during their jobs.
As your supervisor I will endeavor to offer the core conditions and so provide the right environment in which we can both learn and grow professionally to the benefits of clients. Whilst I now work as a Gestalt Psychotherapist I trained initially as a person centred counsellor and therefore I am able to work well with both counsellors in training as well as qualified and more experienced therapists.
